目前，甲醇汽车研究人员用碳平衡法原理，计算出甲醇汽车燃料和汽油的替代比在2.2左右，根据上海华普汽车有限公司《甲醇汽车燃料消耗量的当量比和替代比》M甲醇汽车的甲醇与汽油的替代比在1.95最为合适；本文通过理论和实验证实，根据《混合气爆轰原理》甲醇在内燃机燃烧替代比不能完全按热值和碳守恒计算，就好比1kg煤的热值比1kgTNT（炸药）热值高，但是炸药的威力远比煤大，就是根据混合气爆轰原理，提升了混合气热传播速度，所以甲醇和汽油的替代比可以更低，本文列举一些方法可以实现甲醇汽车燃料低消耗量及达到低替代比。汽车发动机数据良好的情况下甲醇和汽油的替代比可以低至1.2左右。
